Explore our 'hoeve' by following these real experts...

At the Spaaihoeve, children are often involved in all kinds of different activities. Together or alone, creative or more cognitive, sitting or in motion, investigating or processing, in their own cluster and sometimes beyond, independently or under the guidance of a group leader.

Curious about what a school day looks like at Spaaihoeve? Jet or Riley would like to give you a glimpse into our school!

Our school song

The school song of the Spaaihoeve! 'Een school als deze'..

you, me, we

unique together

An inclusive learning place where
every child (from the neighborhood) is welcome

'De Spaaihoeve, together unique!' With this slogan we emphasize that we value the uniqueness of every person and want to develop them. Everyone is welcome. We treat each other respectfully and openly, regardless of origin, language or religion. All students have knowledge of the world and we encourage learning from and with each other. We use the power of diversity. A rich diversity of students, parents and colleagues ensures greater (inter)cultural awareness.

A safe place where you want to be
and can be proud of

You learn and live together. Our play learning center is a community in which we challenge, encourage and support each other. Where we are jointly responsible for each other and our environment and where we realize that you cannot learn if you are not allowed to make mistakes. In our play learning center you can be yourself.

A place in the middle of the neighborhood
and our society

We value all differences and promote cooperation. It is important to us that living and learning are not separated. What you learn influences your life and vice versa. World orientation is therefore the basis of our education. Children experience, discover and investigate the world, paying attention to their own self (micro), their own living environment and others (meso) and from the upper grades also the indirect environment (macro). By making children aware of their own attitudes from an early age, we create a place where we learn to live together and learn to live together. We teach our students to look critically at who they are and to actively broaden their perspective by meeting others out of curiosity. Education at Spaaihoeve is designed according to the Jenaplan principles.

A learning environment with a focus on personal growth and an eye for the national standard

At our school we pay attention to the results and growth of each individual child. We focus on the results that this child can achieve with his/her talent, character, intellectual abilities and background. The task of the group leader is to guide each child as much as possible in his/her growth in relation to himself/herself. In addition to the learning results, we also think it is important that attention is paid to core qualities such as collaboration, functioning independently, communicating, being flexible, being strong and coming up with creative solutions for varying problems. Through our way of working, the children practice all these qualities. In other words: our attention is focused on the personal development and individual opportunities of children in society. This is not always directly measurable in figures, but it is noticeable in personal development and your view of the world around you. We strive to allow all children at our school to work at their own developmental level.

Guided tours

Dear new parents,

If you are interested in our school and would like a tour, please read below what our procedure is.

We use the following hiring procedure:
At the bottom is the “interest form”. After completing and sending the requested information, you will receive confirmation from us whether we can schedule you for a tour.

We can place a maximum of 55 students per year of birth and therefore give this number of tours (then our groups are full).

After participating in a tour, you can indicate whether you are still interested in having your child receive primary education at our school. We would like to hear from you by email within two months after the tour whether you would like to register your child if he or she is 3 years old.
We will contact you around your child's 3rd birthday to complete a registration form.
About 8 weeks before your child turns four, you will receive an intake form from us, after which the teacher will contact you.
Official registration takes place on the first day of school when your child turns four years old (required by law).

If we cannot give you a tour, this is because we are too interested in the year of birth of your child, you will then be put on a waiting list for a tour.
If your child has reached the age of four and you are still waiting for a tour, we assume that your son/daughter has started at another primary school and will complete his/her primary school period there (up to group 8). We will remove your son/daughter from our waiting list (for a tour) so that we keep this list up to date.
