A learning environment with a focus on personal growth and an eye for the national standard

At our school we pay attention to the results and growth of each individual child. We focus on the results that this child can achieve with his/her talent, character, intellectual abilities and background. The task of the group leader is to guide each child as much as possible in his/her growth in relation to himself/herself. In addition to the learning results, we also think it is important that attention is paid to core qualities such as collaboration, functioning independently, communicating, being flexible, being strong and coming up with creative solutions for varying problems. Through our way of working, the children practice all these qualities. In other words: our attention is focused on the personal development and individual opportunities of children in society. This is not always directly measurable in figures, but it is noticeable in personal development and your view of the world around you. We strive to allow all children at our school to work at their own developmental level.

Where your opinion really matters

Children are actively involved in the daily affairs and goings-on in and around the school. For example, what do they think of the themes, the building, our garden and the teachers? They can provide valuable input on matters that a team and parents do not always immediately think about or experience. Conversations take place every day in the circle and there is always room for feedback and ideas from the children. In addition, a core group meeting is held once every two weeks in each group where there is room to discuss points for improvement and make plans at both group and school level. The plans are then discussed in the student council or garden council, thus giving the children in the school a formal place to think and talk.

The coffee is ready

At the Spaaihoeve we think it is important that everyone feels at home. This obviously applies in the first place to the children and team members, but certainly also to parents! Have a cup of coffee and catch up with each other. Opportunity to meet each other and ask questions about the school and education. At Spaaihoeve we attach great importance to an equal partnership between school and parents. Informal contact moments are an important condition for building a mutual relationship. Every morning, parents are very welcome in the central hall/kitchen to exchange experiences or ask questions while enjoying a nice cup of coffee or tea.

Guided tours

Dear new parents,

If you are interested in our school and would like a tour, please read below what our procedure is.

We use the following hiring procedure:
At the bottom is the “interest form”. After completing and sending the requested information, you will receive confirmation from us whether we can schedule you for a tour.

We can place a maximum of 55 students per year of birth and therefore give this number of tours (then our groups are full).

After participating in a tour, you can indicate whether you are still interested in having your child receive primary education at our school. We would like to hear from you by email within two months after the tour whether you would like to register your child if he or she is 3 years old.
We will contact you around your child's 3rd birthday to complete a registration form.
About 8 weeks before your child turns four, you will receive an intake form from us, after which the teacher will contact you.
Official registration takes place on the first day of school when your child turns four years old (required by law).

If we cannot give you a tour, this is because we are too interested in the year of birth of your child, you will then be put on a waiting list for a tour.
If your child has reached the age of four and you are still waiting for a tour, we assume that your son/daughter has started at another primary school and will complete his/her primary school period there (up to group 8). We will remove your son/daughter from our waiting list (for a tour) so that we keep this list up to date.
